Round Robin Charity Tournament

Welcome

Thank you for supporting the J.L. King Center! Every registration helps provide opportunities for children and families in our community. Whether you're playing for fun or competing to win, every rally makes a difference.

Tournament Format

The King's Court Classic is a Round Robin Social Tournament, designed so everyone plays multiple games while meeting new people throughout the day.

Instead of being eliminated after one loss, every participant continues playing for the entire event.

Players will rotate courts and partners throughout the tournament.

How It Works

✔ Individual Registration

Register as an individual.

No partner is required.

Tournament staff will assign partners before each round.

✔ Multiple Games

Each player will participate in approximately 6 rounds.

Each round lasts 15 minutes (or first team to 11 points, depending on schedule).

✔ New Partner Every Round

After every game:

• You receive a new partner.

• You'll play against different opponents.

This keeps the tournament social, fun, and fair.

✔ King's Court System

After each round:

Winning teams move up one court.

Losing teams move down one court.

The highest court is called King's Court.

Players who continue winning will work their way toward the King's Court throughout the day.

Scoring

Players receive:

• 3 points for a win

• 1 point for a tie (if time expires)

• 0 points for a loss

Point differential may be used as a tiebreaker if necessary.

Championship

At the conclusion of Round Robin play:

The top scoring players will advance to the Championship Match.

Championship format:

• Single game to 15 (win by 2)

or

• Best two out of three games

(Depending on tournament size.)

Basic Rules

USA Pickleball rules will be followed.

Key reminders:

• Underhand serve

• Double bounce rule

• No volleying in the kitchen

• Call your own lines

• Good sportsmanship is expected at all times

Tournament officials will make final decisions on disputes.

This tournament exists to support children served by the J.L. King Center.

Unsportsmanlike conduct may result in removal from the tournament.

Approximately 3.5 hours, including lunch and awards.

Will everyone receive a T-shirt?
Yes! Every registered participant receives an official King's Court Pickleball Classic tournament T-shirt (while supplies last).

Where does my registration fee go?
Proceeds directly benefit the programs and services of the J.L. King Center.
